Resident Evil Retribution is a 2012 horror/science-fiction/action film and is the fifth and penultimate film in the live action series based upon the video game franchise.

Full opening scene

Alice Underwater
The first shot of the opening scene shows the protagonist, Alice, underwater and floating upwards as the camera is at first postioned behind her before cutting to be at the side of her as she eventually comes out of the water. At this point there is a long shot that shows an explosion on the ship which pans out slightly.
Fatally injured pilot
There are various medium long shots on Alice, such as her being hit by the explosion and shooting the pilot of the helicopter, which indicate that she is the main character. There is also a close up on the pilot being shot in the head before a long shot that shows Alice about to shoot the helicopter's pilot. There is then a high angle shot of the film's antagonist, Jill Valentine, followed by close up on both Alice which shows them shooting at each other.
Jill shooting at Alice
There is a tracking shot which shows Jill reverse-repelling from the helicopter which then cuts to being an extreme longshot of the aforementioned helicopter which then pans out.
There are then varying shots of the people who were onboard the ship being attacked with the opening scene finally ending with an extreme longshot of the ship and the helicopters that are approaching which slowly zooms in.

Final part of the opening

The entire scene happens in reverse and there are several cuts towards
the end of the scene that show the people onboard the ship being shot at or captured, as well as explosions that happen close to them.

At the beginning there is breathing but following this the only sound is the non-diegetic background music used to add some dramatic effect to the scene.

Alice's Costume
Costume's of everyone in the scene except Alice and JIll
The costumes of those in the scene are either black coats and gas masks, which is worn by the people who arrived on the helicopters, and white 'test subject' clothes worn by those who are on the ship who are being attacked (this can be seen by the fact they are unarmed and running away). The only exception is Alice and the films main antagonist, Jill, as the former is dressed more like a survivor, including shotguns with makeshift ammunition (coins) and the latter is wearing a purple catsuit/combat suit.
